Notes and comments

Another Windmill Field place-name in the Winterborne Whitechurch Tithe Award whose map locates the field (ref 188) south of the village to the east of the Blandford road.[1] This area presents a good open site for a windmill.

This appears to correspond to further records in the Michel of Dewlish archive (DCRO Cat ref D/Mic Deeds D/MIC/T2 1827-1836) where there is also a record of a Windmill Field in the manor of Dewlish. This also appears in a early records (ref as above but T5 (1604-1845).
