Post mill of Milton Ash was monastic C15th stone carving of Post mill in south aisle. On

Irish oak screen in refectory are carved Post mill rebus of Abbot William de Middleton &

dated 1498. Stone carving of windmill with date 1515 o Manor Farm Delcombe north of

abbey (M J Way trans 1959 DCM)

Luccombe or Windmill Ashes Farm - Windmill ashes are trees on top of hill north of

this farm. Rebus of Abbot William de Middleton was a windmill with a crosier through it

on a tun. This is on the still house pulled down in 1753 & abbey barn prior to 1771 when

it was rebuilt. In several other places - Hutchins 3rd Edn Vol IV p399.

of a post mill with round house.

Baiter windmill became Town magazine in Civil War and was known as Powder House.
