Canadian HUSAR Training for Responders

The Tech Rescue Training for Heavy Urban Search and Rescue disciplines is one that is becoming ever more popular for disasters where the risk of structural collapse exists. This includes earthquakes, landslides and terrorism / explosions.

There are 3 stages or types of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Light, Mediums and Heavy. According to the UN - international Rescuers should not come from other countries to assist if they only have Light Urban Search and Rescue Training. Medium and Heavy skills and teams require many additional factors in their complement which make them more ready to deploy and capable when they do - including the use of automatic tools, able to cut through rebar (heavy) and perform several functions whilst deployed in the field as a rescue team.
