ARCTIC SNOW & WILDERNESS SURVIVAL

MARCH 2011: Minden, Ontario - DIMERSAR Academy & ERT SAR took part in an Arctic Snow and Wilderness Survival Training Course hosted by Arctic Tundra Survival Chief Instructor Mr Scott Hembruff of the The Highlands Wilderness Training Institute, in Ontario, Canada.

The team spent two days outdoors sleeping in minus 30 deg. C to study the effects of cold on the body and how to react and survive such conditions and therefore rescue ithers in such environments.

It included the essential medical scenarios (in this case a catastrophic injury accident to a team members involving severe haemorrhage and orthopedic injuries as well as rescue strategies and responses to environmental stress.
