On this course you would build your own shelters and live in them for a night (but with your own sleeping bag depending on the shelter you have made).

You would create your own signal fires, Ground To Air signals, filtration devices, snares, improvised compasses as well as have hands on practice at a number of fire-lighting methods.

Should you wish for a 2-night course then we would meet at 1400hrs on the Friday for a refresher over the Friday PM. You will build your own shelter (natural or with a shelter-sheet, weather dependent) but would only have a bivi bag, no sleeping bag on the first night. Saturday and Sunday would then be an opportunity to practice your skills in either 1 or 2-man groups, isolated over two days. You would be provided with only 24hrs of rations from the Friday PM with the chance to practice your own foraging. Day and Night navigation exercises are incorporated to practice your improvised navigation using only a button compass and your pacing techniques. You would be expected to have signal fires ready at a moments notice and be 'switched on' throughout the course for any opportunities that arise.
