Introduction
In July of 2015 I came across a post on Facebook from a distant cousin regarding a plaque for 3 Gagnon brothers.001 The plaque is located on a rock in Parc de ''Unesco (Unesco Park) in Quebec and was installed there in 1985002; to see pictures of this plaque please visit this website.002 The plaque reads as follows:

Upon investigation I found that the Gagnon brothers mentioned on the plaque are my Great Grandfathers. "The three Gagnon (Gaignon) brothers Mathurin, Pierre and Jean, who came to New France in the 1630s came from the region of Perche, in northern France, specifically from the area around La Ventrouze and Tourouvre."003; to see some pictures of La Gagnonnière please visit this website.003 The parents of these three brothers were "Pierre et Renée Royer, de Tourouvre".004,005,006 On this page I will provide details of my Gagnon ancestors.

Pierre Gagnon was born in about 1572 in Tourouvries, Perche, France.007
Renée Roger was born about 1577 in Mortagne, Orne, France.008
Pierre and Renée married in about 1598007 and had 7 children.
Pierre died December 6, 1630 or November 10, 1633 in France.A01
Renée died unknown in Québec.
