Strat 5 Way Pickup Selector + Series/Parallel Switch + Bypass + Split

This was the most insane passive wiring scheme I have ever done.

This particular guitar was HSS, and there are 3 switches. 1 is series/parallel for ALL 3 PICKUPS (no small feat), 1 is a "blow out"/control bypass switch, and I honestly can't remember exactly what the 3rd one is! It probably turns off one of the humbucker coils.

I'll have to dig up the schematic. I was very pleased with the series/parallel for all pickups trick.

This only comes into play for positions 2 & 4, but it does change both positions from typical Strat parallel tones to unusual Strat series tones.

As you can see in the picture, this circuit is switch crazy. 5 way is a "super switch" which is a 4P5T rotary knife switch. I also resorted to two 4PDT switches to achieve everything requested.

This was a total custom request project. I found nothing online that matched his requests, so I had to dream this up entirely on my own. I was pretty new to the pickup wiring game, and electronics in general, so this was quite a challenge, but I eventually cracked it.

The absolute best part though was that the customer returned about a year later, and I totally thought he was going to complain about it breaking or something, but he just wanted to thank me and said it was a really cool switching system with lots of different tones available. That was great to hear!
