Portable Dummy Load

Here's a compact dummy load design thrown together using an enclosure that used to be a breadboard aid.

Two 8Ω 300W resistors live inside and each have their own 1/4" and combo binding post/banana jack connectors. All the connections are floating.

A 3rd 1/4" jack on the far left simply links to a 1/4" jack in the rear. This is meant for connecting an actual loudspeaker, if desired.

This dummy load box supplements my main speaker box, which has more bells and whistles, but is somewhat limited since the resistors and speaker connections in the box do share a common terminal to allow for quick switching.

This box is better when the amplifier requires floating loads for whatever reason.
