3. SECURITY: POLICE: Update from May 2022: 49 crimes reported; Crime locations are within a 1mile radius of Durham Road. Violence &Sexual Behaviour 18; Criminal Damage & Arson 6; ASB 6; Shoplifting 4 Other theft 7; Public Order 5; Vehicle 3

4. MINUTES OF AGM 19 July 2022 Agreed provisionally
MINUTES OF GENERAL MEETING 19 July 2022 to agree
MATTERS ARISING: Joint PCC meetings – no update. The Parish Councillors who were present agreed to urge the Parish Clerk to ask again.
Youth Club omitting Y6 from the Kids Club: Year 6 have a youth club on an evening same as years 8,9,10 & 11 which will continue to run over the Summer holidays. It’s absolutely impossible to have all the kids in both days and evenings and I try to be as fair as I possibly can to make sure as many kids as possible have access to clubs especially over the holidays.
5. FINANCES:
i) Treasurer’s report: Expenditure of Audit fees £30, Room Hire £48; Income Tea & Raffle £5.50, Tea & Raffle: Income N Henderson £12.00
ii) Raffle: The raffle was held over until next month because there were only four members present.

iii) Quiz: The two prizewinners were from Hertfordshire.
New quiz ‘Hot and Bothered’ to return by Saturday 12 November available from Janet

7. LOCAL REPORTS:
i) PLANNING ISSUES: Members were unhappy about a further application for the drive-thru of KFC. Integra has promised so much and has so far produced Amazon and three drive-thrus. The chair offered to make a site visit to look at evidence of litter for a possible objection or at least a plea for vigilance.
ii) PARKHILL: No report this month
iii) YOUTH CENTRE: Holiday clubs have been available.
iv) SCHOOLS: No update this month
v) ENVIRONMENT: No update
vii) TRANSPORT LINKS: a) Relief Road -This would happen if Levelling Up money is available
b) Leamside Line with station in Bowburn – A report of an email to the Parish Council was felt to be hopeful because it was not an outright ‘no’.
viii) UKRAINE: The chair reported that there are two families now in Old Quarrington and are settling in well. School places have been offered for the children. The families may need premises for a party on Independence Day (24 August), which the chair would look into if none had been found.

9. REPORTS IN THE WIDER AREA:
i) AAP: Next meeting 27 September at 5pm, venue to be arranged
ii) COUNTY COUNCILLOR ROUNDUP: None present
iii) PARISH: Next meeting 17 August in Cassop Community Centre from 6.30pm
Miners’ Lamp Artwork; And opening ceremony will be discussed for September so that the school could be invited along with the artist and possibly Durham Miner’s Association and a band.
iv) QUARRY LIAISON: There are two meetings tomorrow, 17 August, to look at the Yellow Route and paths. This will be followed by a meeting in Bowburn Community Centre.
