She informed members:
Re Scheme1: The advertising period has now ended and no interested parties have come forward. Construction
can therefore progress on the site.
Re Scheme 2: Installation of 5 lighting columns – this work is being done in conjunction with the introduction of a
40mph speed limit. Unfortunately due to the consultation and legal process the speed limit is still some way off.
After discussions with colleagues in Traffic section, the proposed speed limit support from Members and the police
and it is not envisaged that there will be any problems in getting the scheme agreed, although it could be 6-8
months away. Their advice is that the lighting be installed as the speed limit is very likely to follow.

A discussion took place where it was agreed that the increases in cost were reasonable over a 3 year period (the
original costs were given in 2009).
Cllr Blakey, on behalf of herself and Cllr Mac Williams, expressed her regret at the increase in cost of the Runcie
Road/Mabey footpath and that was why local Members could now fund only part of the scheme.
The meeting thanked JA for the update and said that the three schemes were affordable; the funds were available
so it was proposed that the schemes go ahead.
• It was agreed unanimously to progress the three schemes as described.
Unadopted Roads:
The Three Streets is the last scheme in the Environment project and it was proposed that the remaining monies of
£18,386.13 be transferred to this scheme.
After it was confirmed that the money was not allocated for any other item:
• It was agreed unanimously to allocate the remaining monies in the Environment project to the Three
Streets.JA was thanked for attendance and the meeting closed at 6.45pm
