Bowburn & Parkhill Community Partnership
(Reg. Charity No. 1112151)
Bowburn & Parkhill Community Partnership is a registered charity, whose objects are to promote the benefit and improve the condition of life of the inhabitants of Bowburn, Old Quarrington, Tursdale & Parkhill and surrounding area, by associating with residents, statutory and voluntary organisations, to provide facilities and improve the physical and social environment of the area. It aims to represent all sections of the community, without distinction of sexual orientation, race, age, disability or of political, religious or other opinion.
The Partnership was established in 2004 with the help of the City of Durham Council and was assigned the role by the Council and Durham Villages Regeneration Company (DVRC) of principal consultee in developing the Bowburn & Parkhill Masterplan for the regeneration of the village.
Its meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month, starting at 6.00pm, in Bowburn Community Centre. All local residents are welcome to attend these meetings and those supportive of the aims of the charity are invited to join. Attendance for at least two such meetings out of the preceding three entitles members to vote on any motion put before the meeting.
This website was initially set up as an "overflow" from the Community Partnership’s share of the village website, <www..bowburn.net>. Its purpose was at that time simply to accommodate the large volume of minutes of the Partnership’s meetings.
In 2025, it became clear that <www..bowburn.net> was due to be abandonned at the end of the year. (See Bowburn Interchange no. 111.) So this site is now just an archive of those past minutes. It is not the website of Bowburn & Parkhill Community Partnership itself.
