Shalom Beit Chaverim Members,
Our Salon Friday Night Shabbat Services
have been a warm and intimate gathering.
Hope to see you this Friday evening at the
Ryons home (details below). Also, check out
our FaceBook page and LIKE us!!
Note the link off to the left and forward this
newsletter to a friend or family that may
want to join us this Shabbat or in the future.
With Purim behind us, we look to the 'spring'
and our Passover celebration of freedom!
I am looking forward to our Seder together.
If you have any favorite songs or stories you
love having at your Seder, send them to me
and I will be sure to include them. However, in
the Bible, the Jewish people have already left
Egypt and have been traveling in the wilderness.
Parash Ki Tisa:
God names Bezalel as chief artisan to oversee the
crafting of the Mishakan's appointments. God then presents
Moses with two stone tablets, God's words etched upon them.
In Moses' absence, however, the people have made a golden
calf as a god. God sends Moses down; Moses see the calf, and,
in anger, shatter the tablets. God punishes the Israelite,
whereupon Moses intercedes on their behalf. He then returns to
Mount Sinai to receive a new set of Tablets." (Siddur Sim Shalom).
We will discuss this portion on Friday.
