Mark you calendar - November Services

Shalom,

This Shabbat's Torah reading is Noah! I am very partial to this portion because it was my daughter's

14 years ago. In her D'var Torah (speech) she compared the narrative of the Noah's journey on the Ark and the Tower of Babel to my parents journey on a boat from Europe to the United States. Not knowing any English, it might have seemed like a lot of babbling to them. Below is a short summary from Siddur Sim Shalom.

Mark your calendars:

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Friday Night Services on November 18th at St. Paul's. We are also invited

as a congregation to attend: (flier attached)

What: The Calvert Interfaith Council Thanksgiving Service

When: November 20th, 2-4:00 PM

Where: The Southern Maryland Islamic Center

2480 Hallowing Point Rd; Prince Frederick, Maryland

Noah:

"While the flood wreaks get destruction, life is preserved in Noah's Ark. God establishes a covenant: Never again to destroy the earth. The generations of Noah's descendants flourish. They build the Tower of Babel to pierce the heavens . God thwarts their efforts by confounding 'the language of all the earth' and scattering its inhabitants."

Shabbat Shalom
