If you have a photo you would like to add to this site, here are some tips as to how to do it.
First we must understand that all pages are filed under the appropriate Year pages. So don't start until you know the Year of your image.
- Scan your photo and save it to your own computer in .jpg format. You might need to crop it.
- Using image editing software, resize it to about 1024x800 pixels, and save it again., with a suitable name
- Send it by email to either Greg or David, along with any known names in the photo.
What follows is now out of date as we were obliged to convert to "New" Google Sites. Grrr.
Click on the appropriate year page e.g.1963Create a new page for your photo e.g. 4P (Use the Create New Page icon on the top right. Ensure that you check the box File under yyyy e,g, what is suggested. Do NOT file it under Top Level).Click on Create page. You should now be on your new page, in edit mode.Or if you wish to add a photo to your own bio page, simply edit and insert (see below). Please do NOT "Attach file"at the bottom of the page, even though it seems logical to do so. If you do, the user cannot see it, unless they download it. Instead, you need to INSERT the image.Ensure the cursor is positioned where you want your image to be inserted. (Hint : allow a blank line underneath for the future subtitle, or text)Click insert (top left). Click on ImageClick on upload imageSelect the .jpg image from your computerEnsure that the thumbnail of your newly uploaded image is selectedClick OKYou'll get an image edit toolbar on top of the "original size" image. Click on 100%, or if the image is portrait orientation, click L (for large). If you select Large you might then want to centre align it, and its subtitle. You may want to insert a Medium or Small image within existing text (like the image you see on this page). To do so, align it Left or Right, and turn on Word Wrap. Note: it is next to impossible to add a subtitle to word-wrapped images - but see Advanced editing hints.Under the class image, type the legend as you see on other images in the site - the year and class name (e.g. 1963 4P) in bold centered. Then the rows - please count the number of places in each row and start with inserting ???? for each person. Then carefully go through the photo and replace the appropriate ???? with that person's name. If you are not sure of the person's name leave it ????.Save (very important!)To check that all is OK, click on that year page, (e.g. 1963) and ensure that there is at the bottom an appropriate subpage e.g. 4P. If there isn't , go to SITEMAP to find your lost page, click on it and Move it to the right Year page. (Use the Cog icon on the top right and Move Page and select the Year page). If this seems all too hard, that's OK. Ask someone on the List to help you and email the photo to him, with the legend of the names, if you know them.
