Welcome to the rogues' gallery of class photos of boys who started at Asquith Boys' High School in 1960, or joined this cohort over the next 5 years.
The object of this "by invitation only" site, is to place names to faces. It's also a place to post your own group photos of reunions/mini-reunions, or to maintain your own biography.
It is a collaborative project.
Update (March 2018) - if you want any changes (add, change or delete), please contact David Wilson or Greg Baxter. Access is available to anyone who has this URL, so it is suggested that you bookmark it.
Tony Chad says "gadday"
First, "Search this Site" (just below the heading) for your surname, and if there are no results, please contact an Administrator who will set things right. If you definitely know the names of others in any photo, that are currently set to ????, please do the honours and let us know.
Don't forget to bookmark this page. Thanks to all those who have contributed so far.
My class photo is not there.
Do you have one in your own records? Send it to us, along with as many identifying names as you know.
I put my name in "Search this site" and got no results.
Your name is either not on the site, or it's there but spelled incorrectly. Or it's there but you were searching for your full name - e.g. John Smith when the entry might be J. Smith. Check the year and class and find your class photo and let us know.
My sport / club photo is not there.
Most likely true - see above. There are many photos that need to be found and uploaded.
Why are all these unrecognisable juniors in our photos? They're not in our year group!
You're probably looking at a sport/club photo which had members spanning over the different year groups. Also you'll see that there are some class photos in a year (e,g,1963) which have 3F 3H along with 4A, 4B. Remember that some of our pioneers repeated a year. That's why we have a year for any of our cohort who was studying in 1965.
I , or someone I know, was absent for the photo.
On your advice, we will add a line underneath the photo. We will type in Absent: and add your name.
A friend didn't get an invite and should have.
The initial invitation mailout was for those who are currently on "Stig's list" with valid email addresses (thanks for your ongoing administration of the List, Stig). Some people are no longer on that List for various reasons. If your friend wishes to have access to our site, and you believe that that they are entitled to, by all means provide the URL, with the caveat that it be kept confidential.
Other people have a separate bio page, but I can't find mine.
Probably true, as we are rolling them out as people request them. Send a message with text and photos to the administrators, and you'll promptly have a page set up.
I know someone who passed away, but does not appear on the Valete list.
We obviously need to be careful here. If you have adequate evidence (e.g. memorial service program, news cutting) of someone's death - we will publish. But certainly let us know.
How private are my details on this site?
Only those who have the URL have access, so you are asked to respect the confidentially of the URL. If necessary the URL will be changed and members advised. Google does not crawl the site, and so results will not appear in any Google search.
Can I become an administrator?
Please do! The more administrators the merrier! A basic knowledge of editing New Google Sites will help. Can we identify someone from a younger generation, in order to ensure continuity of this site for a couple of decades?
