From the past:
“So here I am, still at school after 40 years but confident of graduating in a couple of years.”
2004
Worked for the Commonwealth Bank for a bit over a year including being a teller on C Day (14/2/66) then left and went to Balmain Teachers’College. Posted to Ungarie Central School (half way to Broken Hill) where I learnt a lot about wheat, sheep and mixed farming, a little about teaching and met Rae who I was sensible enough to marry 4 years later. Other postings included Bobadah (50 miles and 70 kangaroos from Cobar- check this with Greg Stevens ), Bermagui and Quaama (north of Bega). Did my degree at Macquarie Uni. starting by correspondence until moving back to Sydney and completing it eventually part-time. Taught in a bunch of metropolitan schools and had a magic year on exchange teaching in Vancouver with Rae and our 2 kids.
Still very happily married, living at Westleigh, now at my 13th school (I moved a bit more often than you, Les) and am currently principal of Kellyville Public School.
Interests: travel, bush walking, canyoning and working on my golf which it badly needs.
So here I am, still at school after 40 years but confident of graduating in a couple of years.
