Thank you one and all JPIIA had our entire school reenroll through the Choice portal in February. I know the tuition portal is behind. The admissions office is aware and working with finance to make this ready as soon as possible. We will hold a space in the mean time for the students on our rosters. Gracias a todos. The Dental Hygenists have been in the building this week. We have hade some extra white teeth. If you bring in the slip tomorrow they will still be here through Friday. Thank you Ascension Dental for providing this service to our students.

Summer School Registration is open. K4-7 grade students will be here and 8th grade will be at St. Catherine's. We will get that information to you as soon as we have it. Enrollment will be capped this year so it is important to enroll early. For those that are required not getting a seat at our summer school does not excuse the requirement, it will be your responsibility to find an alternative for your child and have it approved by administration at JPIIA.

This week our Lenten Buddy activity is to make the gorgeous stain glass windows pictured here. You will find them hanging on the students lockers. You can see them during our upcoming curriculum night March 17. Thrd through eighth grade are also going into the hurch to participate in stations of the cross. The students are reflecting on the story of Jesus' final moments through prayer. Our Monday Prayer Services continue. The Friday Fish Fry patrons loved our placemats last week. Several compliments were given of our students art work. There are also very positive feedback coming for our volunters as well. JPIIA has a fabulous community. I appreciate our connection to the Sacred Heart Church and the future St. Leo the Great Parish which is what the combined Catholic Community of Eight will be named officially as of July 1, 2026.
Esta semana, nuestra actividad de Compañeros de Cuaresma consiste en crear los preciosos vitrales que se muestran aquí. Los encontrarán colgados en los casilleros de los estudiantes. Podrán verlos durante nuestra próxima noche de currículo el 17 de marzo. Los alumnos de tercero a octavo grado también irán a la iglesia para participar en el Vía Crucis. Los alumnos reflexionan sobre la historia de los últimos momentos de Jesús a través de la oración. Continúan nuestros Servicios de Oración de los lunes. A los asistentes del Pescado Frito del viernes les encantaron nuestros manteles individuales la semana pasada. Recibimos varios elogios por las obras de arte de nuestros alumnos. También recibimos comentarios muy positivos sobre nuestros voluntarios. JPIIA tiene una comunidad fabulosa. Agradezco nuestra conexión con la Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón y la futura Parroquia de San León Magno, nombre oficial de la Comunidad Católica de Ocho a partir del 1 de julio de 2026.

These last few wintery weeks are hard, it is still cold, and gray outside. We get some nice days and then it snows and we are quickly reminded that winter weather can last into May in Wisconsin. BUT IT IS MARCH!!!!!!! I am looking ahead at our calendar for the year and realizing how little we have left and how much I still want to do. This year has been fabulous! Our students have been a bright light, there has been so much progress. Our staff work so hard every day, we are a strong team that work together so well there is such consistency and a goal focused mindset. I look forward to spring and the rest of these long dreary months where we are together in our routine. It means we are still all together.
Estas últimas semanas invernales son duras; todavía hace frío y está gris afuera. Tenemos algunos días bonitos y luego nieva, lo que nos recuerda rápidamente que el invierno puede durar hasta mayo en Wisconsin. ¡¡¡PERO ES MARZO!!! Estoy mirando nuestro calendario del año y me doy cuenta de lo poco que nos queda y de lo mucho que aún quiero hacer. ¡Este año ha sido fabuloso! Nuestros estudiantes han sido una luz brillante; ha habido muchísimo progreso. Nuestro personal trabaja muy duro todos los días; somos un equipo fuerte que trabaja tan bien en conjunto que hay mucha constancia y una mentalidad enfocada en los objetivos. Espero con ansias la primavera y el resto de estos largos y aburridos meses en los que estaremos juntos en nuestra rutina. Significa que seguimos todos juntos.
In the counseling corner this week, we are shifting our focus to the virtue of Accountability; which includes taking responsibility for our actions and giving a reason for it. Our weekly intention is “I will be accountable for my own actions”, this means taking ownership of actions both positive and negative actions. On our SEL lesson front, this week I am working with our students on a growth mindset. I am starting with our younger friends and we will be discussing the impact of a positive attitude.

Our fifth graders are engaged in a fun research project making Disciplemon cards. They are learning about the disciples in Religion class and instead of just telling us about them they are creating 'Pokemon' type cards with information about each disciple. They are learning so much about the disciples because they are engaged in the activity.
Nuestros alumnos de quinto grado participan en un divertido proyecto de investigación: crean tarjetas de Disciplemon.
