To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. - Ecclesiastes 3:1
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Though I am still at school every day I am taking as much time as I can to enjoy the sun, my pool, outdoor concerts, time with friends and family, and the best is spending time with my grandson - Ronan. We had a couple quiet weeks at JPIIA where we did some summer cleaning and now we have Summer School in full swing. It is definitely different not being involved but I love seeing the students and I am meeting some new kiddos from other schools as well. Our 6th grade homeroom/MS Science and Math room got brand new tables and chairs, they will be at different heights to have a stadium seating feel in the classroom, they are also whiteboards on the top. Ms. Koll also got a new whiteboard table for her office. We are working on taking the library apart and putting the books on carts that will be accessible to all classrooms at anytime of the day. Our library was a shared space with the counselor's office which meant that the only time the library could be used was when Coach Bodi was scheduled to be out of her office, and if she was needed library was canceled. My goal is to create a library time for parents to use monthly as well beginning in September. More information to come on that. Mr. Geoff has cleaned out some of our storage spaces which will allow our teachers to not have to store everything in their classrooms. The IT crew has been in and set up all the tech for the upcoming year. Most importantly we are trying to work out a way to have both the school hallway and the gymnasium entrance locked from the lobby so there is a double locked entry for any visitors making it safer for our students and staff. Ms. Lunceford and myself are working on giving the website and our newsletters a facelift.
I am extremely saddened to make the announcements of our staff members who are leaving. Change is always difficult and having this big of a shift is not something I am used to. However, I am really excited to announce our new staff members. I will be doing so through dojo and social media one at a time so follow along to learn about who will be coming aboard the JPII crew.
I miss all of you! The kids make the school the place I want to be everyday. But we all need a break, to recharge and reset. This is our season for love and family. We will send another newsletter at the beginning of August. If you have questions please do not hesitate to call the school office.
