This week we focus on the theme for the third week of Advent: JOY. We began our week with a prayer service and candle lighting and we will end our week lighting the last candle in the advent wreath.
This week's Advent activities included:
Monday and Friday morning prayer service, led by Middle School.
School Activity - The Star all school movie on Friday
Christmas Concert Rehearsals
Advent wreaths in classrooms
We also helped to celebrate the Breakfast with Baby Jesus festivities with Sacred Heart and the other Parishes this weekend. It was a joy to see some of our families attend, our little mini choir sounded joyous, and thank you to our helpers as well.
Please consider donating cookies on December 19. Students dropping off cookies will receive an out of uniform pass.
If you would like to volunteer for fieldtrips or at any school event you need to sign up for the Safe Environment training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
We made it - almost! I am beyond blessed as I reflect on the start of this year and where we have come as a school community. There are no words to describe the amount of kindness, happiness, fun, and love for each other I see every day between our staff, students, and families. This is not to say that there are times the grinch gets the better of each of us, but more often than not the best is shining through.
This Holiday I wish each of you a very Blessed Christmas filled with family, love, and peace. You will all be in my prayers as you travel or stay right here. Please keep each of our staff and their families in your prayers as well. These next two days will fly by and we will be home for the break soon.
Please keep an eye on your students use of technology over break. Keep an eye on the things they are watching and playing. Some of the games and videos are coming into the school.
During the Advent season we spend some extra time with our older/younger buddies. The students love being together, the older students do a great job helping our younger students learn about the Advent traditions we have here at JPIIA. They are absolutely great with each other, the older students are like celebrities when the little kids see them in the halls or in the lunchroom waving and saying their names.
John 23rd is a community program in St. Patrick's church that provides after school tutoring, homework help and enrichment events. They are taking registrations for 4-12 grade. It is a free program. Here is the link to register. 25-26 After School Registration
