Did you know every week before Mass Father Timothy does a Mass Minute. During this time he comes forward and teaches the students a little bit of information about the different parts of the Mass. This aligns with our Faith goal this year as well. We have spoken about why we kneel in church when we do, and how we should be kneeling. We discussed the reverence of the time the bread and wine is becoming the body and blood of Christ and the remainder of the time the Eucharist is exposed outside of the tabernacle.
¿Sabía que, cada semana antes de la Misa, el padre Timothy dedica un momento a explicar algún aspecto de la celebración? Durante este tiempo, él se dirige a los alumnos para enseñarles detalles sobre las distintas partes de la Misa. Esta iniciativa también se alinea con nuestro objetivo de fe para este año. Hemos hablado sobre por qué nos arrodillamos en la iglesia en determinados momentos y cuál es la postura correcta para hacerlo. También hemos reflexionado sobre la reverencia debida tanto al instante en que el pan y el vino se transforman en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo, como al tiempo en que la Eucaristía permanece expuesta fuera del sagrario.
After a few gorgeous fall days true fall Wisconsin weather is setting in. This season is so unpredictable, please make sure the students are prepared with coats when needed.
There will be many different invites, sign ups, and flyers coming out in the next couple days. Please make sure you are completing all the upcoming things.
Trunk or Treat is sign up only anyone with out a wristband CANNOT attend and will be asked to leave.
Color Run will be Oct 29 at 1:30 there is no official sign up but if you would like to come help that day you can let your teacher or Dr. Manikham know via dojo.
Breakfast Date with Someone Great does have a sign up. That is helpful for us to plan enough food and space, however, I will always prepare a bit extra just in case.
Conferences are November 5 & 6 These are mandatory and for K4-5th grade require a sign up.
Athletic forms need to be handed in by the beginning of next week so teams can be formed appropriately.
Tras unos días otoñales magníficos, está llegando el verdadero clima de otoño de Wisconsin. Esta estación es muy impredecible; por favor, asegúrense de que los alumnos lleven abrigo cuando sea necesario.
En los próximos días se enviarán diversas invitaciones, formularios de inscripción y folletos informativos. Por favor, asegúrense de completar todos los trámites pendientes.
Para el evento "Trunk or Treat" es necesario inscribirse previamente; cualquier persona que no tenga pulsera NO podrá asistir y se le pedirá que se retire.
La carrera "Color Run" se celebrará el 29 de octubre a la 1:30 p. m.; no hay un registro oficial, pero si desean ayudar ese día, pueden avisar al maestro o a la Dra. Manikham a través de Dojo.
Para el evento "Breakfast Date with Someone Great" (Desayuno con alguien especial) sí es necesario inscribirse. Esto nos ayuda a calcular la cantidad de comida y el espacio necesario; no obstante, siempre prepararé una cantidad extra por si acaso.
Las reuniones de padres y maestros serán el 5 y 6 de noviembre. Son obligatorias y requieren inscripción previa para los cursos de K4 a 5.º grado.
Los formularios deportivos deben entregarse a principios de la próxima semana para poder organizar los equipos adecuadamente.

In the counseling corner this week, we are continuing our focus on the virtue of Acceptance, meaning to accept others for who they are and to accept things and ideas that could be different from what we are used to. Our weekly intention is “I will accept others that look or act differently than me” this intention is one we strive for now and into the future. On our SEL lesson front, this week we are aligning our virtue of acceptance and talking about Bullying. We want to spotlight this issue as it is Bullying awareness month during the month of October.

Esta semana, en el espacio de orientación, seguimos centrándonos en la virtud de la aceptación: aceptar a los demás tal como son, así como aceptar cosas e ideas que pueden diferir de aquello a lo que estamos acostumbrados. Nuestro propósito semanal es: «Aceptaré a quienes tengan un aspecto o una forma de actuar diferentes a los míos»; es una meta que nos esforzamos por alcanzar tanto ahora como en el futuro. En cuanto a nuestras lecciones de aprendizaje socioemocional (SEL), esta semana vinculamos la virtud de la aceptación con el tema del acoso escolar (*bullying*). Queremos destacar esta cuestión, ya que octubre es el mes de concientización sobre el acoso escolar.

5th grade - respectful of others walking past during PE class from Ms. Pulda.
4th grade - doing the right thing when lining up from Ms. Engevold.
1st grade - Wonderful straight line after recess
7th grade - great job with buddies from Mrs. Hernandez

This week I will highlight chaperones.
Per Siena and JPIIA policy we can only have the chaperones who have been selected participate with school trips. We must have sufficient time to check that they have had safe environment training and are cleared to participate. Chaperones must:
follow directions of staff in charge
remain with assigned students
report any misconduct or emergencies to staff
use appropriate language and refrain from physical contat
keep personal phone usage to a minimum
do not post or share photos or videos of students without permission from staff
arrive on time, check in at office and wait in lobby
travel with the students on the bus
no siblings or others may attend with you
may not show up at the site and expect to join the group
may not purchase extra items for their child or group
Failure to comply with expectations will result in not being able to help on other field trips in the future.
Esta semana destacaremos la labor de los acompañantes.
De acuerdo con las normas de Siena y JPIIA, solo pueden participar en las excursiones escolares aquellos acompañantes que hayan sido seleccionados previamente. Necesitamos tiempo suficiente para verificar que hayan recibido la capacitación sobre entornos seguros y que cuenten con la autorización necesaria para participar. Los acompañantes deben:
seguir las instrucciones del personal a cargo
permanecer junto a los estudiantes asignados
informar al personal sobre cualquier mala conducta o emergencia
utilizar un lenguaje apropiado y evitar el contacto físico
limitar al máximo el uso del teléfono personal
no publicar ni compartir fotos o videos de los estudiantes sin permiso del personal
llegar a tiempo, registrarse en la oficina y esperar en el vestíbulo
viajar con los estudiantes en el autobús
no acudir acompañados de hermanos u otras personas
no presentarse directamente en el lugar de la actividad esperando unirse al grupo
no comprar artículos adicionales para su hijo o para el grupo
El incumplimiento de estas normas supondrá la imposibilidad de colaborar en futuras excursiones escolares.
