Today in our Gospel Father Juan asked "How does going to JPIIA make a difference in my life? Does coming to school Mass make me a different person at home with my family? How are we recognizing the life of God in our lives? How are we living a life of love and compassion? (love that tie to our virtue). He challenges us to care for others and live a life like Christ.
This past weekend Pope Leo XIV canonized two new Saints St. Carlo Acutis and St. Pier Georgio Frassati. Both of these saints are more modern and were younger when they passed. They are very relatable to our students. St. Carlo was 15 when he died in 2006. His mother was at the canonization. What an honor.
At JPIIA this week we began with our first all school Rosary. And what better day than on the day the church celebrates Mary's birthday September 8th. Our Junior High students did a great job of leading.
Last night our sacrament meeting was very helpful for those needing to be set up with the correct resources to receive baptism, eucahrist and reconciliation. For the first graders it is important that they are baptized this year if they intend on participating in communion next year.
Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. Throughout this month let's learn a bit about our Catholic Saints and faith leaders.

We are all so eager to learn here at JPIIA. Students are soaring in classrooms and each day has been absolutely exciting to watch. Almost everyone is finished with their STAR beginning of year test so we will begin working on setting goals and growing. Don't forget to turn in Midwest mixer forms by Monday.
Our weekly intention is “I will say encouraging words to someone struggling”, this is a powerful skill in that it helps create an environment where students feel seen, valued, and connected. On our SEL lesson front, this week and last we were learning about communication and social skills that are helpful in developing techniques for interactions with peers and with adults.
Come on who can resist a game of duck duck goose. Even better when we are getting to know our brand new K4 friends and learning a new game at the same time. These cuties are irresistible and I have found that my camera roll has been full of K4 & K5 every day.
John 23rd is a community program in St. Patrick's church that provides after school tutoring, homework help and enrichment events. They are taking registrations for 4-12 grade. It is a free program. Here is the link to register. 25-26 After School Registration
