TEACHERS!! Celebrate Student Voice on Human Rights Day
About the You Are Enough Campaign
The You Are Enough Campaign is a district-wide initiative celebrating Human Rights Day on December 10. It invites students to explore the connection between human rights, self-worth, and belonging through reflection, conversation, and creative expression.
This campaign reminds students that their value isn’t something they earn — it’s something they already have. Every person deserves to feel safe, respected, and included, just as they are.
Teachers can use the provided slide decks and resources (see below) to guide meaningful discussions, art projects, or writing activities. The lessons are flexible and can be adapted for all grade levels and subject areas.
The campaign encourages classrooms to:
Reflect on what human rights mean and why they matter.
Recognize the dignity and worth in themselves and others.
Share creative or written expressions inspired by the theme “You Are Enough.”
Participation is open and inclusive — this is not a contest, but a celebration of voice and humanity.
Classroom Slide Decks
To help teachers bring the You Are Enough message to life, we’ve created ready-to-use Canva slide decks for different learning levels.
Each lesson ties the theme You Are Enough to Human Rights Day and offers flexible ways to engage students through reflection, discussion, writing, or art.
The linked slide decks include speaking notes for teachers to support facilitation — you can view them by opening the slides and selecting PRESENT → select PRESENTER VIEW. The notes provide talking points, discussion prompts, and ideas for connection.
Focus: Kindness, fairness, and belonging
This lesson helps younger students explore what makes them special, how to treat others fairly, and why everyone deserves to be included.
Focus: Empathy, respect, and understanding rights
Students learn what human rights are, why they matter, and how small acts of kindness and inclusion make a difference in their communities.
Focus: Justice, dignity, and the power of self-worth
Older students explore global human rights concepts, real-world examples, and the deeper idea that “being enough” is tied to recognizing everyone’s inherent worth.
Optional Student Expressions
As part of the You Are Enough Campaign, students are invited to share their voices through creative expression.
Last year, students shared powerful messages of belonging and human dignity through the “You Are Enough” project.
Students may choose to respond in any format that feels authentic to them:
✍️ Writing: poems, personal reflections, essays, or letters
