What can be learned from the local Cape Cod Environment?
This course involves student groups leaving the campus and driving to study areas. This course is primarily designed for Seniors. Juniors may join the course with permission from instructor. This course will provide students with hands-on, problem solving experience in environmental field and laboratory measurements. Students will learn and use methods for soil sampling, water quality analysis (freshwater and marine), population studies, and pollution analysis. The course will include a long term research project, research on various world issues including our home environment on Cape Cod, and a collaborative work environment with STEM Academy students. Students will choose from a variety of topics or topics of their own interests, some of which may include invasive species , ecosystems, biodiversity, climate change, aquaculture, and fossil fuels.
