1243 Advanced Placement World History

Grades 10-12: 1 Credit Advanced Placement

How do new ways of studying world history change our view not only of the past, but also of the present?

Through an exploration of over several thousand years of history starting in 8,000 BCE and continuing through the present day, students analyze select topics through artifacts, primary sources, and media resources. There is a strong focus on developing historical claims through analysis of evidence and interpretation based on synthesis. They will be assessed on problem-solving, written essays, and skills. Students taking this course will be able to take the AP World History, both Ancient and Modern exams.
