This course is designed to introduce the argumentative processes of analysis, evidence, reasoning, construction and refutation. Several formats of debate are introduced: mock trial, philosophical debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate, cross-examination debate, and policy debate. Individual research and public speaking are an intrinsic part of the curriculum.
