This Music/Theater course is open to all students from all levels of knowledge and skill who enjoy singing, acting, dancing and performing. Students enrolled in the music/theater class will have the opportunity to build relationships and develop artistic skills while learning to collaborate effectively in an ensemble atmosphere. This class will be comprised of students with and without intellectual and other related disabilities. The ideal candidate for this class is someone who enjoys and feels comfortable singing, movement, acting, creating, and working collaboratively with their peers. This would be a wonderful opportunity for any student who may be thinking about the following career options: education, special education, music education, psychology, physical or occupational therapy or music therapy. Students do not need to have previous music or theater experience to excel in this class; they just need to be kind, accepting, and supportive individuals that enjoy working with others. The Musical Theater class curriculum will provide students with knowledge, skills, and experience in the disciplines of: music, drama, puppetry, and dance.

Students in this class will build peer relationships and study various musical styles, acting styles, basic choreography skills and puppetry skills, theater history, multicultural music, and performance techniques. These artistic mediums also include life skills, time management, and social skills.
