Required Sequence: Successful Completion of at least two Computer Science courses

This advanced computer science course gives students the opportunity to pursue a topic of interest in more depth. Students will work on personalized projects geared toward potential specialization in computer science or information technology. Student will work closely with trained technicians and/or teachers to identify and solve real-world problems within the school. Skills learned in this course are easily transferable to internships or other jobs in technology. This course requires a high level of independence and self-directed interest in growing in the computer science field. This course is primarily designed for seniors, juniors may join the course with permission from the instructor or department chair.

Students have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a wide range of industry topics:

• Networking
• Computer repair
• Software maintenance, installation, configuration & troubleshooting
• Servers and virtual computing
• Customer support best practices, including virtual & remote support
• Knowledge base creation and documentation
• Virtual & remote support
