Grades 9-12 1 Credit College Prep

The aim of this class is to introduce students to the four elements of language study: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will study relevant, real world theme based units rigorously following the Massachusetts Foreign Language Curriculum Framework. Instruction will be designed to maximize student engagement in a technology rich environment. Student performance will be assessed through the use of school-wide rubrics, common formative assessments, summative assessments, as well as task specific rubrics.

1367 Advanced Placement Spanish Language and Culture

Grades 11 & 12 1 Credit Advanced Placement

AP Spanish Language is intended for students who wish to develop proficiency and integrate their language skills, using authentic materials and sources. Students who enroll should already have a basic knowledge of the language and the cultures of Spanish speaking peoples and should have attained a reasonable proficiency in using the language. This course will thoroughly prepare students for the demands of the Advanced Placement exam in the Spanish language. There are assignments which students must complete over the summer prior to the start of the school year. Efforts will be dedicated toward achieving excellence in speaking, reading, writing, and expressing ideas creatively.
