Zentangle Values

The subject of this piece is patterns and values. We did zentangle value strips, meaning we used zentangle patterns and made them darker/lighter to correspond with the shade we were doing. For this piece I used a 12x3in piece of paper and a black ultra fine tip pen. I divided the paper up into 1x1 inch squares with a 1 inch border. I then began with my patterns.

Value is obviously part of this work, seeing as that is what the project is. I also used pattern in some boxes with stripes and colored in boxes.

The story behind the patterns is I really like doing random patterns and this was assigned like my calling. If I were to revise a part of this work I would make the filled in boxes neater and more consistent, which would make it look neater up close.
