Inclusion Project

More Than A Ramp, 1 in x 1 in

The assignment for this project was to make a piece that inspires inclusion. I chose to make a piece based on wheelchair-accessible entrances and ramps because many places don't have ramps that allow people in wheelchairs to enter easily.

For this piece, I used graphite on bristol. I chose this method because I felt adding color would make the piece more visually appealing when I really just wanted my message to be clear. I used a small piece of paper because when the piece is displayed, it forces people to move close to see it, almost metaphorically shoving it in their face and forcing them to recognize the issue.

If I were to take this further, I would create a whole series of 1x1 pieces that showed more inclusion-based topics, such as service dogs and elevators, titled "More Than A..."
