Duck Stamp

This piece was assigned as a piece that is supposed to inspire conservation of birds that reside in wetlands, such as ducks and geese. I created a piece of a mallard duck in a body of water.

This piece was created using graphite and a white colored pencil on gray-toned paper.

For this piece, I had to play with pattern and shades/highlights to get the coloration of the duck just right. It took a lot of time to perfect the markings on the head, neck, and chest because of the small lines.
