Elements and Principles of Design Diptych

This piece is a diptych in which a requirement was to connect the two pieces. Each design is based off of a combination of an element and principle of design. The top one is space and shape, and the bottom is shape and variety. I connected the pieces by using a circle on the left side where the two pieces have a space and wove it into both designs.

The materials used are colored pencil (black) and markers. The colored pencil was used for the space aspect of the piece, while the markers were used to add the color in the bottom piece.

If I were to move forward with this piece, I would create a background that better tied the pieces together because they feel more disconnected than I wanted.
