Coil and Carve

The design of this piece is supposed to be a part of a tree, like possibly a stump or part of the trunk. Although not pictured, a minor detail I added is that there are circles on the bottom to represent the rings of the tree making this piece able to be functional as a cup or pen/pencil holder of sorts and a simple sculpture piece with no actual function other than art.

I'm very proud of the texture on the surface of this pot. The carved lines are supposed to represent the ridges of the bark, and they also have a nice feel to them when holding the pot. The glaze of the pot adds a natural feel with the lighter and darker parts found across the pot.

When I went into working on this pot, I was hoping it would look like real wood, and I was definitely not disappointed with the final product.
