Time Capsule

1. Each drawing in this set is of something different, the first is a corner, where I drew everything that was in or near that corner, I did my best to blend the graphite near the corner to make it appear in depth. The next drawing was a still object, I just started making the lines that I saw on the table in front of me. I did my best to give the binder and headphones detail. The last drawing was a self portrait, I used lines to incorporate the details and shaping of my face. I used pencil for all of these, I made them by starting with the outline of what I was drawing as light as I could then when I was happy with the shapes, I started using thicker and darker lines. I wanted the drawings to relate to me and my life so I drew a corner in my house, my binder/earbuds and my face. I tried to make all of these realistic. I drew the first 2 as I was viewing them and where they were in the frame based on my sight. When I drew my face I again used informal balance to make my self portrait appear centered, which in my opinion makes that the focal point of the work.

2. I used several values to make the objects that had depth darker, and the closer objects lighter. Also I used informal balance in all 3 of these. I changed the size of most of these a few times because I wanted to use up as much space as possible.

3. It all shows life and purpose without being very intricate. All of these things are mine or are in my life, my face, my binder/headphones and the corner is in my house. I should have added color and background.
