Oil Pastel Color Study

The subject of this creation is a woman in a magazine, who had an almost symmetrical face. I used oil pastel to blend colors to form one solid color in each square, after gridding both papers. I chose to create this because the picture I chose was unique and I thought it would set my art apart from everyone else's.

I used blending to mix colors together in each square. I also used line in the gridding process to separate each square. While creating this I changed some squares that didn't look right, or if they were too close in similarity to another square.

The meaning behind this work is to show pixelation of a photo and break it down into individual colors. This project relates to my life because it is simple, yet complex. If I could change one thing about this piece, it would be to blend a little better in some areas.
