1. the subject of this creation is how it kind of transforms from dark and angry into happy and light. I started by looking to see what I should make out of these weird shapes and the face on the left looked more angry while the one on the right looked more calm so I used watercolor to gradually have the painting transform. I filled in the shapes of the drawings with less water so the pigment would be stronger than the background. I then attempted to blend the colors so it looked more gradual as the colors changed.
2. I based it off of the shapes and lines in the original drawing and tried to blend the paint to the best of my abilities in the background. I tried to give it the emphasis of something bad that turns good in the end by starting with a dark blue and working up to yellow. Originally I was going to fill in the shapes with random colors and just play off of that but as I was doing that I figured out what I wanted to turn it into.
3. The story behind this artwork is something dark and angry slowly turning into something bright and happy. This probably relates to me the most in the morning when I wake up because I'm very grumpy and tired but as the morning goes on I become happier and have more energy. If I could improve this painting it would be in my brush strokes and how well I blended the colors together I also would have wanted to spend a little more time on it but overall I'm happy with the final product.
