Animal Assemblage

1. The subject of this creation is a snake, it's different because it changes color. To make this I bunched up newspaper, wrapped it in masking tape to build the base (body) of the snake. Next, I taped the outside of that with packing tape to give it a harder outside shell. Once this was done I spray painted the snake starting with purple, then blue, green, light green and finally yellow. Lastly I hot glued paint chips towards the tail in place of scales, and the rest magazine cut-outs. To add more detail, put circle paint chips and a tongue shaped paint chip for eyes and a tongue, then painted pupils and a crease on the tongue to finish it off. I chose to create this because I thought it well fit this project, being able to have a smooth transition from color to color and keeping it fun.

2. I used blending by incorporating colors like teal or blue-purple when the color was changing. My project evolved because originally I was going to just to magazine cut-outs but I added some paint chips instead.

3. The meaning behind this artwork is that it shows how evenly things can be put together even with diverse and wacky things to add color. This project relates to my life because I like the way the colors morph into each other. If I could make this project stronger by changing one thing it would be to have done the whole outside of it with scale shaped paint chips.
