Unique Lighting

Artist Statement:

• This project is called "Unique Lighting". For this photo, I had my friend Chandler stand beside a light. With one hand he used it to flash laser randomly. We still wanted the picture to look cooler, so he had the idea to, for a second, flash the light on, then quickly off. Turning the light on and off, created half of his face to be shown in the light, and half in the dark, giving a cool mysterious look, just tying in the photo and (personally) making it look stronger. I took just one of these pictures, there was the light of the lamp in the top right corner, so I clone stamped it out, I also saturated the laser a tad bit to make it pop more. The original picture was quite large, so I used a cropping tool to shorten the sides more and make it more even. Here is the finished photograph.

Artist Statement:

• For this picture it was fairly simple to create. All I asked him to do was to just stare seriously at me. We had a light that was beaming at his face to create half of his face in the the light, and half submerged in the dark. It gave the photo a more intense type look, and made it a whole lot stronger rather than it being just a normal portrait shot. While editing, I upped the brightness so you could see his face more. I also upped the contrast because the color wasn't to good. Here is the finished picture.
