Social Political Prints

Artist Statement:

• To make the carving, I sketched out my idea onto a piece of paper (my statement being underaged drinking) I took that piece of paper, placed to over the wood/rubber type thing, then took a dark pencil, then rapidly rubbed to back so the sketch would come off. Then I took a carver and outlined the pencil lines.
• For this artwork I took four of my premade gelatin prints and placed them on a giant black slab. Next, I took my carving of a bottle, the message being underaged drinking with a sign saying plus 21, I then rolled ink over the carving. After, I placed the carving on all four of the premade gelatin prints. I then added some other small details to show or hint the underaged drinking idea.
