Recreation Of A Famous Artwork

Artist Statement:

• This for my project "Recreation of a famous statement." I recreated a painting from a famous artist names, "Kehinde Wiley." What Kehinde does is take famous white person rich scenes, and replaces them with less fortunate people, and to that she focuses on mainly African American people. How I recreated this painting was I took one of my friends and placed him in front of me. I took a sharpie and signed his neck, like signing my "work." I cropped down his head so it was about the same level. I then printed the photo on two transparency sheets, which I then took to the darkroom to print. I exposed the paper for about five seconds and then proceeded to develop the print. Here is the final print.
