Social Issue

Artist Statement:

• This is for my project, "Social or Political Issues." For this project, I used the issue of suicide. My idea was to have a gun pointed at my head and shooting my brains out. Instead, after talking to the teacher, I thought to make it better, I would use flowers instead. The reason being is I wanted the idea to be like i'm blowing out happiness out of my brains. I chose suicide because I saw a video on a young child shooting himself in the head with a shotgun because he was bullied. That is why I chose suicide as my social issue. Afterwards I took my picture to the darkroom to print it out. Here is the final products.
