Concentration

Artist Statement:

  • These twelve pictures above are for my project, "Concentration." As you can probably see my concentration above I focused on being portraits. The very first picture was taken at a wedding that I shot at, it was taken with a canon 5D mark ii. It had an attached flash to get the light to stretch in directions. The second photo was the same scenario as the first. The third photo is of my brother, we were walking in a park and saw this rock ledge. I told him to sit on top while I would take a picture from under his feet. The fourth picture had the same scenario as the first as well. The fifth photo is also of my brother, I had him stand in front of me so I could get the wording on his long sleeve. The sixth picture is of my friend chandler, it is a darkroom printed picture. Instead of putting the whole sheet in the developer, I used a spray bottle for the sheet to get the darker circles. The seventh photo is of my older brother. We were at the Portland Head Light near an edge overlooking the water. He was walking and staring over when I snapped the picture. The eighth picture was taken at Wolfe's Neck Park, I told him to stare at me with his camera pointing directly at me. The ninth and tenth pictures was the same situation as the very first, they were taking at a wedding with an attached canon flash. The eleventh picture photo is of my younger brother, I told him to hold a bunch of his Star Wars lego figures and stare at me. The final photo is of my older brother. We were at a park and I told him to stand on a rock and look down.
