GUITAR CLASS is offered to all Eighth Grade students as a nine-week elective music class to fulfill the Fine Arts credit. Students are graded on effort, participation, weekly performance and assessments for notation reading.
Students explore various styles of music and perform as a group and as soloists. When these prerequisites are met, students then choose individual pieces to study.
Weekly recitals are an integral part of the classroom study where students are able to work on their performance skills as well as their listening and critiquing skills.
Our weeks also include exploring acoustic guitar, ukulele, electric bass, and electric guitar. We conclude our class with a “Marshwoodstock” performance!
