In 6th Grade 3D Art, students are introduced to foundational concepts, materials, and techniques related to three-dimensional art. Throughout the course, students will:
Apply color theory concepts to three-dimensional and surface design
Identify and use the elements of art in sculptural works
Practice constructing three-dimensional forms through paper folding and sculptural design
Explore clay as a sculptural medium
Learn proper clay-building techniques, including the score-and-slip method
Study the stages of clay, including greenware, bisque, and glaze firing
Explore relief sculpture and its role in art and design
Learn introductory concepts in branding and graphic design, with a focus on form, symbolism, and visual communication
Develop craftsmanship, problem-solving skills, and creative thinking through hands-on projects
This course emphasizes experimentation, creativity, and the development of foundational skills that prepare students for more advanced art courses.
