7th Grade ART

7th Grade Visual Art (requirement): This is the Visual & Performing Arts required course for MMS. This class is intended for those students who do not attend Band or Chorus, but is available to those students as well.
This course focuses on exploration of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design in relation to the physical works we create as well as how the great art masters and contemporary artists have used these same visual concepts within a variety of styles & movements throughout history. Artwork created is unique to each student’s sources of inspiration, personal style, and artistic choices. Students will be asked to creatively problem solve using critical thinking skills to expand their artistic voice in the four strands of art education: Creating, Presenting, Responding, and Connecting.
