Grade 7 - Piano Class

Piano Class is offered to Grade Seven students as a nine-week Allied Arts course. It is open to all students regardless of prior experience and fulfills the MMS Grade Seven Performing Art requirement. Students are graded on their effort, participation, weekly performance, and assessments for notation reading. All students perform a weekly recital, practice their reading on the staff, music theory, original composition, and after meeting the prerequisites, are able to choose their own repertoire from all genres.

Compositions have included:

Superstition by Stevie Wonder, Jump by Van Halen, Viva la Vida by Coldplay, Don't Stop Believing by Journey, Linus and Lucy, Here comes the sun, Nyeh heh heh, The Imperial March, Pirates of the Caribbean, Hall of Fame, and Mario Kart, and many more.
