Our Grade Seven and Eight Chorus is heading to the Augusta Maine State House to present their learning of their year-long composing project, Bridging Adolescence: A River Flows Through Us. Students will give the background on the project, "The River Sings Its Song", explain the learning and skills involved to create an original piece of choral music, and share a performance of their piece. Many thanks to the Maine Arts Commission for inviting us to their Excellence in Arts Education in Maine reception. We are all excited to share our learning with members of the Maine Legislature and First Lady Ann LePage. Special thanks to the Marshwood Education Foundation for their support of our project to create this curriculum and the opportunity to teach this to a state-wide audience.
