About Mrs. Jen Balsiger:

In 2006, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Art Education (K-12) from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY with concentrations in Ceramics and Printmaking, and in 2008 I received my Master or Science degree in Visual Art Education (birth-12) from Nazareth College of Rochester, NY.

The 2022-2023 school year marks my 16th year of teaching middle school and I've been delighted to serve in many districts and charter schools-
New York: West Irondequoit & York CSD
New Hampshire: Rye Jr. High SAU #50, Seacoast Charter School in Dover,
and VLACS -Virtual Learning Academy Charter School
Maine: Marshwood Middle School - where I truly desire to spend the rest of my career!

I'm originally from Westfield, NY (about 45 minutes south of Buffalo, NY) and I currently live in Nottingham, NH with my husband, our new baby girl (born April 2022) and our sweet, black lab rescue, named "Dorie." We hope to move to the RSU#35 area in the future to be more closely connected to the families of Eliot, South Berwick, and Rollinsford.

In my free time, you will find me on a lake kayaking, camping, singing, hanging out with friends and family, attending an activity at my church, or decorating my house!
I truly feel blessed to be apart of the Marshwood family and teach our amazing kids more about Visual Art Education.
