They are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth in Nigeria. This role is ideal for a high-performing B2B sales professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, closing complex deals, and contributing to the growth of a purpose-driven organization.
You will play a key role in identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities with enterprise and growth-stage clients, while working closely with the Nigeria Country Lead and cross-functional teams.
Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities with enterprise and development-sector clients in Nigeria
Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiation, and deal closure
Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
Build and manage senior-level relationships with key decision-makers across sectors
Maintain accurate pipeline data and forecasts using CRM tools
Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, learning design) to align solutions with client needs
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and client meetings
Provide regular market insights, sales reports, and strategic input to leadership
Education, Experience & Skills
Minimum of 6 years’ proven experience in B2B sales, preferably within professional services, education, consulting, or startup environments
Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Deep understanding of the end-to-end sales process
Experience using CRM tools such as HubSpot, ZohoCRM, or Salesforce
Existing relationships with senior decision-makers in growth-stage and large enterprises in Nigeria
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Highly detail-oriented, resilient, and results-driven
Self-starter with strong ownership, urgency, and accountability
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is an advantage)
6+ years of B2B sales experience
Consistent history of hitting or exceeding revenue targets
Strong pipeline management and closing skills
CRM proficiency
Senior stakeholder relationship management in Nigeria
Experience in learning & development, education, or the startup/innovation ecosystem
