We are seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager (SaaS) to lead customer acquisition and drive revenue growth across Nigeria and the African market. As the first sales hire, you will own the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing while shaping the foundation of our go-to-market strategy.
This is a high-impact role where your performance will directly influence our growth trajectory and brand presence in the African tech ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution
Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects across Nigeria and Africa
Lead end-to-end consultative sales processes: prospecting, discovery, demos, onboarding, negotiation, and closure
Convert trial users into paying customers by guiding them through onboarding and delivering a seamless experience
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Establish and nurture relationships with product managers, engineering leaders, and operations executives
Present product value propositions and tailor solutions to client needs
Act as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring long-term partnerships and satisfaction
Collaboration & Market Insight
Work closely with founders to refine sales pitch, pricing, and objection handling
Gather customer feedback and share insights with the product team to influence roadmap decisions
Represent the company at industry and tech events to expand awareness and credibility
Reporting & Performance Management
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline updates
Track sales metrics, analyze performance, and provide reports to leadership
Consistently meet and exceed revenue targets
Requirements:
2–4 years of sales or business development experience, preferably in SaaS, B2B, or technology
Proven track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets
Strong communication, presentation, and product demo skills
Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, etc.) and pipeline management
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and work independently
Strong understanding of Nigeria and Africa’s tech ecosystem, with networks across product, engineering, and operations leaders
Experience selling solutions to product managers, engineering managers, or technical teams
