how we teach MATHS AT REDGATE

At Redgate we are all mathematicians!

Through our carefully designed maths curriculum, we aim to nurture enjoyment, fascination and excitement as children learn. Through practical activities, we provide opportunities to explore, discuss and develop their use of mathematical language in a safe and respectful environment. We aim to foster flexible-thinking and creative mathematicians, who can apply their mathematics to a variety of  problems with great resilience and self-belief.  Lessons provide opportunities to  collaborate and grow our mathematical knowledge and skills together with the aim to see connections within maths and beyond. We guide the children to recognise the importance of maths and prepare them to be confident mathematicians for Key Stage 3 and in their future lives.
